Fall theme challenge

I'm back again for another design challenge at Hiding In my Craft Room.  This challenge was a fall themed challenge.  Living in Tucson, AZ , we don't really experience fall like most other places.  We take an annual trip to a farm to gather fresh apples and pick out our pumpkins.  The kids love it and it's a great family tradition.  They especially love coming home and jumping in the pool to cool off afterwards.  That's life in the desert for ya!  I used DCWV Four Seasons stack and their Pumpkin Patch Cardstock stack.  Jolees Boutique pumpkin stickers, a random sticker and piece of layered chipboard for some embellishment. I stenciled a leaf, hand cut it out and added some ink to the edges then popped it up with foam squarer, for some dimension.  These pictures are 5 years old but this challenge gave me the incentive to scrap them finally!

Canvas bag

I made this pain canvas bag into something a little more exciting.  I used some ribbon from 3 Girls Jam to cover the handle and add some color to the bottom of the bag.
.  I used paper from Echo Park, DCWV, and Fancy Pants Designs, Distress ink from Ranger, added some nylon butterfly's for depth and what project would be complete without Bling?!  Not mine! Lol. I used Recollections bling for a touch of glam.  For that little bit of extra sparkle, I added some silver Stickles.  I love it, what do you think?  Thanks for stopping by today.

So, I recently decided that I am going to just put myself out there and try something new.  So I saw a post on Facebook for a design team call and I thought, I LOVE their products, I have a TON of them, so WHY NOT??!!  I gathered my courage, poured it out on a page layout and took the plunge!  I am a huge fan of Stickles.  What?!? You don't know what Stickles are???  Really!!!  Let me show you what you have been missing...

This pretty hibiscus flower die cut is, well, pretty.  BUT, when you add Stickles to it, it is GORGEOUS!  It now sparkles and pops off the page.  Stickles is this wonderful glitter glue that adds fun to everything it you do. What's not to love!  :)  When I first saw this stuff a few years ago, I was instantly hooked and knew I had to have more.  I have lots of colors and can
t wait for them to make new ones to add to my hoard, I mean collection.  Enjoy and go Stickle something!

Halloween 2007

Thei kids went out for Halloween this year. Nick was a pirate, Michael was Thomas the Train and Julia was a ladybug. It was a great night for treats and the kids had fun. Julia slept the whole time but was so cute and Michael was scared of teh spooky decorations. he really like the "happy face" pumpkins though and was eager to go see those houses that had nice faces. Nick enjoyed scaring his little brother by saying "Arrrr" all night long.

Look Mom--No wheels!

Nick learned (finally) how to ride without his training wheels. We had been trying to convince him to try not using them but he never wanted to try. So Monday, Daddy just took them off and away he went. We knew he was ready as he hardly ever used them anymore. Fortunately, there were no major spills and no scrapes to the knees. Michael saw Nick riding his big bike and wanted to try his own bike with training wheels. Well, that didn't last long as he went flying down the driveway, hit the bump at the end and crashed. After that, he stuck to his motorcycle and tricycle! We'll get him back on again soon though.

Happy Birthday!

Julia is 4 months old now. I can hardly believe it. She is growing so fast. I am putting her in 12 month clothes now as she is too "fat" for her 6-9 month ones. I squeezed her into each outfit once before I moved up a size though. She is just a happy little girl. Life is busy here with the 3 kids. Nick is in Kindergarten and he has church school every Monday night now. He loves them both. Michael is fully potty trained and has so much fun at the CDC. Grammie is coming to visit us in 5 days and the boys are excited. Cos starts another semester of school Monday, which means that I am back to being the only parent again for 4 nights a week this time. Like I said, life is busy here. We are mentally preparing for a future deployment around next May but still no confirmation yet.At least he will be done with school by then and have his Bachelor's degree. Hope all are well and looking forward to the holidays--already!!

Hi Everybody,

I am trying to catch up with the rest of the world by blogging. I'll keep it simple to start and add a few pictures. Hope evryone is doing well and in good health. The kids are good and Julia is getting so big. She has chunky little legs and happy chubby cheeks. Her legs are so big that she has had to move upto the next diaper size and is now in 3's! When she sits, her tummy bulges out on both sides. It is so funny. She is a happy baby and very good natured, so far! She puts up with a lot from her brothers and I think she'll be a tough little girl. Take care! Love, Kari
